Want, Wish, Need

Blog by Donna Korchinski

Did you know that when you say “I want” or “I wish” or “I need”, you put yourself in a constant state of wanting, wishing and needing and never “getting”.

Your brain, your body, your cells are very literal. They take everything at face value. If you say “I want…something”, you stay in a constant state of “want”. You will always be “wanting”. Is that what you’d like for yourself?

Or if you say “I wish”, same thing. You remain in a constant state of “wishing”.  Like a dreamer.

It’s like that with the words “I need”. If you say “I need a new car”. Well, you will be needing a new car, and needing it, and needing it.

This is a subtle way of manifesting something you want, wish or need.

Here’s a blueprint that you can use as a guide to manifest your wants, wishes or needs.

1. Be as specific as you can. If you say, “I need a holiday”, it’s too general. So change it to “I am thankful for a trip to Hawaii this December” (or wherever, or whenever or with whom you’d like to go).

If it’s a job you’re looking for, be specific as to the type of job you desire, or you can say “my ideal job” and you can ask for a wage range, location, or other specifics.

2. Write your desire out – use a journal and repeat it daily. Visualize it. Mostly, be thankful for receiving it, even before you get it.

3. Be careful what you wish for.If you say “I need to lose 10 pounds”, change it to “I am grateful for my ideal weight of  XXX pounds/kilos”.

If you ask to “lose” weight, you may “lose” it and then “find” it again – hmmmm! Or tragedy could strike and you could lose a 10 pound limb!

4. When you fulfill your want, wish or desire. be thankful – every day!

One interesting story that comes to mind is about Bianca Andreescu, winner of the 2019 New York Open tennis championship.  She tells the story that she visualized winning the championship, even to the point of writing herself a $5 million cheque prior to the event. That’s what she got!

Good luck!
